I can feel your sadness here. I’m sure when those trees were planted you had high hopes. Not only does it hurt to see a tree come down, your hopes come down too. Very clever 18 word story.
This was a result of the Great Texas Freeze last winter. It might have been worse had they been larger, but I still loved our trees. Thank you for reading.
Thank you. I also have a hard time growing plants, let alone trees. I’m letting my husband take care of what will replace them. I won’t be very helpful, lol!
Perfect! I find six word slices hard to write. You captured all the emotion in your 18 words.

Thank you. These are tough to write, which is why I would up with 18 words instead of six.

They grew up with our family when we first moved into our house. Time to start with something new.

This is sad; I feel your pain. I know it was hard to watch, and then to have the empty spots. Poignant poem!

Thank you, Maureen. It looks so bare now, almost like a different house.

I really liked this, and relate to the sadness of losing a tree. We lost a very large, old, beautiful tree in our yard to storms last year.

Oh no, that’s so sad! It sounds a bit like my story with growing stuff. Just the right amount of words!

Thank you! I tried to stop at six, but couldn’t bring myself to do it. Funny though, the trees were 18 years old. I just noticed that.
